Hello all, Has anyone trailered a Catalina 27? I know the beam is 8'10" and the highway maximum is 8'6". But... If anyone has actually done this, please let us know your experiences, good or bad. Thanks. Mark
the Trailer Sailor website <www.trailersailor.com> The webmaster, Todd Johnson, used to routinely trailer a C-270. You might try making a post on that site's messageboard. It seems to be the best place on the Web for info on trailers and trailerable sailboats.
I trailer a Cat '25 swing, but I have seen more than one 27 being offloaded in Anacortes, WA. What I remember was the big "WIDE LOAD" signs on the front of the pickup and on the transom of the boat. Canadian laws may be different than for us Yanks. Frankly, I have thought of trying the same thing, but the 25 is easy to trailer and I don't want to incur a lot of grief for 2 ft.
