I am curious how many people trailer their C-27? Is the older wing keel model that difficult to trailer, and is it possible to step the mast and ramp launch it? Just for reference, I would be sailing it on Lake Superior and towing it with a 3/4 ton pick up.

I drug mine 2300 miles from Pa to Ca with an F250 with out problems. Wouldn't want to at todays gas prices. I launch and retrieve by myself easily. I have a 12ft tongue extention would go with 14ft next time.
Launching on a ramp less than 1:6 could be problamatic. At MDR our ramp is made for launching sailboats. I think the ramp underwater is longer than usual.

I have my Cat-27 in MdR and would like to move it to PA or MD in a year or so. Do you have any advice for when I go shopping for trailers?

Unless you are really, really, really attached to your boat, you might want to consider selling it and buying back east. Boats sell for a lot more money than they do back east. With the difference in money you can buy a bigger or newer boat and avoid the cost and hassle of towing or shipping.
