Trailer
Sometimes you can find a used trailer that fits. On these forums, E bay or http://www.sailboatowners.com/forums/index.htm?fno=20 I did find a used one and consider myself lucky. There is a trailer Co in Georgia and one in Eastern Pa. that makes them specifically for this boat in the $1500 range. Generally, the trailers out there have long rails (Bunks) to support the hull. Then the winched up keel is lowered a bit onto a support or roller. This takes a bit of the weight off the keel setup and the hull supports. It is good to have some sort of setup to line up the stern of the boat onto the trailer like hull guides or a keel guide. When you pull out the boat, check the keel condition for rust, the condition of the keel cable for fraying and pivot assembly for wear. Very important. Yuo don't want the cable to break or to have the keel drop off the boat. I am into this right now. There are several sites on the net for Catalina 22 info., technical data and maintenance of boats and trailer. Such as the Catalina 22 National Association. Catalina Direct. Chip Ford 's outstanding site. -for starters.~Bilbo
