trailer upright guide position

When launching I move the trailer guide "goal posts" out a few too many inches then launch because the beam is wider than aft were the posts are nug to my baot for trailering. Other than being a pain to undo the bolts it seems one more step I may not need to take. Does any one 1)leave them set at the max beam of the boat 2) have them snug to the boat on the trailer and lauch, pray etc. As the posts angle out as the trailer sinks and boat floats (we hope) seems like I am making too much work for myself. Any help much appreciated.

When launching and retrieving my boat, I just leave them right where they started. I wouldn't think that adjusting them would make a huge difference with centering on the trailer. I primarily use the goal posts as "backing" down the ramp reference points.

Added centerboard guides

I leave the poles attached as they are a pain to remove. I also added some treated lumber above the center-board support board. The boards fan out to the rear. This helps me guide the boat onto the bunk boards (as well as the poles) and prevents the nose from wandering during crosswinds as it heads up to the trailer winch. Before I added these guides the boat would drift off-center and the hull would scrape on the roller supports damaging the gel coat. That reminds me, I still need to grind the corners off of those supports.Good luck & enjoy!

bunk boards?

My 240 has two side by side 2x6 boards for the centerboard to rest on. I always have the problem of the boat being an inch port of center and therefore the centerboard only rests on one of the boards. It makes a pretty good sag in that board! Has anyone upgraded to a 2x10 single board? The boat next to me in my trailer parking slot has a new 260 and that boat only sits on one board.
