MY 1989 23-FOOT IS MY SECOND BOAT. THE FIRST ONE LIVED IN THE WATER FULLTIME AND HAD TO BE HAULED OUT BY A BOATYARD. I AM THE THIRD OWNER OF THIS HUNTER 23 AND THE MANUAL IS LONGGONE. I DON'T KNOW THE ROUTINE FOR FLOATING THIS CRAFT FROM TRAILER POSITION. HOW DO YA DO THIS? IS IT IN THE MANUAL? IS THIS INFORMATION AVAILABLE ONLY VIA ORAL TRADITION? WHAT ARE THE INSTRUCTIONS? DOES HUNTER HAVE A SET OF INSTRUCTIONS? signed, MARK SEATVET+ "SEEMINGLY HELPLESS IN WINSTON-SALEM"

I will be glad to tell you

There are no instructions for getting the boat off but I had alot of practice at Belews, Norman, Smith Mounatin and so forth. Even had one going past me on US 220 north of Greensboro once it came off the trailer doing 55 mph. I did not like that one coming off the trailer. Ugh. There is alot and if you will call me on Saturday morning, I will be glad to give you my imput. Call Hunter and ask for Gregg Emerson and he will give you my phone number. I bet I know where your boat came from originally. Crazy Dave Condon

Trailer launching

Mark: The boat will float off the trailer once the aft third portion of both bunks are at the water line. Give the boat a good push and away she goes. Expect that your rear tires will touch the water if your trailer is a Magic Tilt (no it doesn't tilt). - Kevin.

Archives

Mark, Also, search the archives of this site for many tips on raising and lowering your mast. This seems to be the worst part of launching on this model. Good Luck Ward
