Does anyone know the size and load rating for tires on a 260 trailer? Thanks Dave O.

I just pulled this off of my MagicTilt

The tires say "ST205/75 D14 (F78-14)". They are Load Star K550's, and specify Load Range C. Hope that helps.

easy idea

depending on your bolt pattern (on trailers, they are pretty common), but for a standard 5 lug, 205-75-15 load range C, you can buy them at tractor supply co, pre mounted on a new wheel, for about $100. Online, I think their price is even less. (Boy did it piss me off when I found it online, called the store to check for stock, got there, and paid a $40 premium for taking the time to go to the store. Online is only $60)

Dave - there's no indication as to whether or not you know (and for the benefit of anybody who is reading who _doesn't_), trailer tires are designed specifically for trailers. "They say" never use car or truck tires. I think the difference is mostly in the sidewall construction. I believe trailer tires always have the designation "ST" somewhere.

tires

I have a 240 on a single axle trailer really too small, should be a tandem axle. anyway, as a result the tires and axles seem to tilt with the tops of the tires tilted in like it out of alignment. Trailer tires cost over $100. the only wear I was getting was one the inside edge. I jacked the trailer up and chocked the frame. took both tires off and with caulk marked which was which. took them to a tire store and had them turn the tires around on the rims and rebalance. then put them back on opposite sides. That has worked great for 2 years.

260 tire size

Stock magic tilt trailer tire size for my 1998 260 is ST 205/75 D14. ST means special trailer tire and the D means bias ply. I replaced all 4 this spring with ST 215/75 R14 radial load range C for $78.00 each. I went with 215 instead of 205 to increase rated load about 100 pounds per tire. "ST" trailer tires are specifically designed for trailer use and normally have stiffer sidewalls and higher inflation pressure than automotive tires. You should not use automotive tires on a trailer. Many tire shops do not balance trailer tires unless you ask for it. You should have them balanced.
