Hello everyone, first time post here. I've recently become very interested in obtaining a pocket cruiser for lakes and trailering and an occasional ocean trip. I found a decent 18' Capri but the issue is there is no trailer! its in another state so not an option to sail home and kinda defeats the purpose of the design of the boat with no trailer. does anyone have some suggestions for a model trailer that might take this boat or how one might be retrofitted? im assuming there are options out there asidie from spending $2-3k for a new trailer. many thanks!

Capri-18, best unknown pocket cruiser in it's size! Great performing boats that are way over built, and I don't understand why there ain't more of them out there. Anyway, hope they heavily discounted the boat for the lack of a trailer. Yes, you could always find a boat trailer on Craigslist and modifiy it to fit the Capri. But, depending on what you'll have into the boat, and if you intend to keep the boat for awhile, the best thing might just be to take the plunge and buy a new galvanized trailer specifically for the boat. In the long run, you'll enjoy the boat more than if you tried to jury-rig something. That way you will be able to safely tow the boat and not have to worry about traileriong to different locations. And if you intend to launch in the ocean, don't even think about a painted trailer, you'll never keep up with the rust.

Loved our Capri-18, wish I could've kept her along with our C-22.

Trail-Rite makes the stock trailer. I've had decent luck with EZ-Loader trailers too.

I just picked up a 200 model year Catalina 18 that has the "Trail - Rite" stock trailer out of Huntington, CA. Great single axle trailer, solid build with bent bunks so you can pull it without having to tie the boat down. (I still do as I want to make sure its extra safe). As I just registered it here in Seattle I had to call Trail Rite directly for weight info , it weighs in at 760 lbs unloaded btw. my Toyota Tacoma V6 pulls the boat and trailer with no issues whatsoever. I would recommend contacting them as they already have the specs to give you the "factory fit". And believe Me, it fits!

Make that a 2000 year model, as a 200 would pre date the factory, but not the sport. haha
