look at something different

We have a Goodyear tortion axle. Great ride and independant shock absortion keeps the trailer from swaying. Mac 26s 1992. Modified from a standard Mac trailer. 75 MPH, hit a cattle guard and it's like nothing. Just need to maintain grease in the axle. Replacing grease is a breeze too. Take care of it in the driveway. Stainless Steel disc brakes too. A lot of folks like to upgrade or add new things to their boat. The trailer sometimes gets neglected.

I may have seen your trailer at Lake Pleasant. Did you do some additional cross bracing of the horizontal members as well as the winch tower? And if so did this help, or was it primarily the new axle? Thanks, Steve

Steve, that's us

The original owner put the axle together. It was one of the major selling points for us. Like I said, as well you know, some neglect their trailers badly. Having piece of mind on the road paramount. The ease in changing the grease in the axle creates more sailing time. There is a zirk fitting on the outside of hub so, you pump in new grease, wipe off the old, your done. Much better than taking off the entire hub. Remember grease breaks down with each immersion, especially salt water. Primarily the axle instalation doesn't take away from the stuctural strength. It also takes away from that "bounciness" when working on the boat, on the trailer. If you see us on the lake, usually Saturdays, stop and say Hello. D&D Brown "Splash" '92 Mac 26s
