Lake Nipigon is a big body of water north of Thunder Bay, Ont. and it keeps saying "come sail me" Does anyone have experience or advice about sailing Nipigon?

Nipigon Is Questionable

If interested in the north shore of Lake Superior, I suggest you get a copy of an excellent cruising guide called THE SUPERIOR WAY written by Bonnie Dahl. It should be available at places that carry sailing books. Nipigon is mentioned as not a very good place to sail (shallow and few anchorages), but there is fantastic sailing along the north shore with drop-in points at Grand Portage,MN,and Thunder Bay and Rossport in Canada. I have driven to all three locations with my H26 from Minneapolis and used the Dahl book to explore much of the north shore and Isle Royale. Islands and good anchorages in wildernesss areas make this a great place to sail if you want to take advantage of the trailerability of the H26. Would be glad to discuss further if you wish.
