I am considering training my Macgregor 25 to San Felipe, Baja and sail south down the Sea of Cortez. I've been to San Felipe so I know there is a launch ramp there and secure storage for my truck.

I also know that the north end of the Sea of Cortez is not so attractive with it's huge tides and mud flats.

This seems to me to be easier than driving to the tip of Baja and sailing north from there.

Anyone done this?

Pupluv,

If it was me, I would trailer down to Puerto Escondido. It IS a longer drive, but it puts you RIGHT in the center of some of the BEST cruising area in the Sea!

VERY secure yard there. Very nice people and a lot of Gringos also. Hidden Port Yacht Club is there and they can help you out a lot.

The marina area.Yard is off to the right in the photo.

They have a bit of gear there. The travel lift is controlled from a wireless controller as you walk with the boat!

There is also a fuel dock there.... and just an hours sail south is Agua Verdie

ENJOY!!!!! :D
