Trailer rust

I'm getting some rust on my galvanized trailer. What is the best way to fix it? Can I just grind it off then cover with a primer? I really don't want to use my bigger boat someday fund to replace a trailer! Help!

Grind it off and if its a galvanized trailer, then use galvanizing spray paint with zinc, found in most hardware stores.

Note, It's a good idea if you are drilling any new holes in your trailer to prep them with the spraypaint as well. Rustoleum has their own brand, so it should be widely available.

Many stores carry cold galvanizing spray- I get it at ACE Hardware. Good stuff. Spray any bolts to, particularly the threads
