Trailer problem/issue

I posted the following for Hunter owners but it is, in some ways, a general question so I posted it here also. Just purchased 93 Hunter 19' water ballast sailboat. It did not come with a trailer. Here's my question, I have another boat (83 Mac 25 swing keel) with a trailer and want to use it to transport the Hunter about 20 miles to another marina. The bunks are 13.5 feet long and from rear edg of bunk to rubber "nose rest" is 19 feet. So it looks like from a length perspective all is ok. What should I look for/do with respect to contour of bunks on the H19? How sensitive are boats to even support? How (technique) would/should I adjust the bunks to match the hull contour? Any help appreciated. Also, eventually I would like to get a trailer for the H19. How do I go about finding one or "building" one? I called Hunter on this and they suggested I pose the question on this board.

Trailer sailor...

I'm kinda new to sailing but my boat has a trailer with adjustable "bunks", i.e., they are bowed with a slotted bracket in the middle to allow for adjustment to the countour of the hull. If your trailer doesn't have this adjustment bracket, you may have to rig a temporary one for the trip, or otherwise change the shape of the "bunk". Good luck, Keith K. C22 Vesta
