ODay 25 Tecumseh
Hi All,

I recently took owner"ship" of an O'Day 25 and am looking to winterize and renovate it at home. I'm in the final throws of making the tandem axle trailer, but was wondering if anyone on the forum can provide some dimensions of their trailer and boat if its out of the water?

The dimensions are all on the attached sketches.

If anyone can help I would appreciate it. This may also be helpful for other owners looking to build a trailer.

Thanks in advance

O

Hi I'm in Ontario. Unfortunately i'm already 90% complete, believe it or not importing of a boat and trailer can be too much of an expense and headache from US to Canada

My trailer is in storage at the Erieau Marina. Are you anywhere near Chatham-Kent? You're welcome to have a look.

Wow bringing back memories, I did this same thing about 20 years ago. I had an O’Day 25 and needed to get it home to repaint and son on. I bought a tandem trailer then built bunkers to set it up on. I just used a print add I found of the 25 being towed by a van to scale the bunkers. It slid on the first time and back off when I was done with no problem. You are already way ahead of what I did then, no internet in those days. You will be fine.

I'm near Windsor, so I may take you up on that if I can't get the data here. Thanks
I'm pulling out this Sunday morning, so you're welcome to come by my house any time after that to eyeball/measure what you need.
Just send me a PM if you're interested.

Some dimensions

My boat (1983 O'Day 25) is still in the water but I did go take some photos of the trailer and I did some measurements for you. The length A is 110 inches and the length B+C+D is 110 inches. The width G from the center of the roller supports forward is 44 inches and the width of the H supports is 66 inches. I have trailer guides aft that are 96 inches wide. The height of the forward roller supports from the base to the mounting bracket for the rollers is 21.5 inches and it is 21.75 inches from the base of to the roller brackets for the aft supports. Note that these are mounted on a cross-tube that is mounted under the main tubing so you have to add 4 inches to each of these measurements. The height of the bow support from the main tube to the lower roller is 39 inches. Note that I had to lower that since for some launch ramps, the bow ring would catch on the lower roller and keep the boat from easily rolling off the boat. The length of the bar holding the two rollers on the bow stop is 20 inches. I've attached some photos to help illustrate. Let me know if you have any other questions. Note that now that I've added the trailer guides, I no longer needed the keel guides so I'm taking them off since they serve no purpose.
