Trailer improvement

I tried to put this on the Photo forum the other day without any success. I think you understand the idee anyhow. In the owner's manual page 18B, retrieving procedures, point 6 says "center boat between upright aft trailer guides". After our first retrieving when we had to really move the boat sideways several times before it was centered. Then I thought that there must be a better way to do this, here is the solution: We put two pieces of plywood about 6 inch high in a "V"-shape on the "centerboard shelf" with a 2-inch wide space for the centerboard and the wide opening pointing aft. Since that day the boat goes to the right place on the trailer with no problems. Per Albinsson, ALFI

email pics

Do you mind e-mailing the pics you couldn't post in the forum? I've been entertaining ideas such as this for quite a while. The only thing I don't like about my 240 is trying to get her on the trailer- which is why I slip her now. mcooper@dallas.net

trailer depth?

I have been thinking about this mod since reading your note and have a question. If the trailer were too deep, the boat center board could ride over the top of your modification until you start to pull out of the water. Then the boat would be on top one side of the V instead of between. Do you have a way to make sure that the trailer is the proper depth.
