Yamaha Yamaha 25 MkII Annapolis
Hello all,

I am new to the S.B.O. forums. Am currently in hot pursuit of a Yamaha 25 MkII up in Michigan. I am based in Annapolis, MD.

The seller has a trailer but it is largely rusted and heavy and probably unsuitable for anything beyong yard usage.

Are there any trailer manufacturers out there that you would recommend for this boat?

Should i forget about acquiring a trailer for this boat and just have it transported, eat the cost, and rely on the marina for haul out? I really do not intend to use it for trailering around the country.

Thanks

My last boat before my present Yamaha-26 was a Nonsuch-22 on an excellent (like new) trailer. I had the boat and the trailer shipped from CT to San Francisco and immediately sold the trailer for a profit. Had the trailer been in poor condition I would not have shipped the trailer and certainly not have bought a better one either if I did not intend to dry store the boat. I would have also negotiated for a lower price for the boat only.

Contact an outfit like uship.com for starters and you will quickly get some shipping quotes. Remember you have to also factor in carefully preparing the boat for shipping and on-loading the boat onto the shipping company's truck and reversing the process at your final destination. Although shipping is never cheap it should be highly competitive and you should be able to find fairly reasonable rates

I hope this helps.

Good luck with your purchase.

Thanks very much for the advice. I did acquire the boat (Hull# YAM25530480) from Bay City, Michigan. It had been a fresh water boat all its life. It now sits near the Magothy River, near the Chesapeake.
