TRAILER for Hunter 23.5

I can tell you if you cannot find a trailer for the 23.5 and plan to build it, you better pattern after one for the 23.5 or the hull will be damaged not to mention the water ballast tank as in some cases that happened. I believe Road King will have that design for the 23.5. Hunter built the original trailers. You might find one as the boat or 23.5 is wrecked.

More out of curiosity than anything, but in the 23.5, the centerboard support is NOT supposed to hold any weight (pushing the board into the boat), right?

Trailer for H 23.5

I have a Hunter 23.5 with the original trailer that Hunter matched to the boat.
It does not pull very well, fishtails above 60 mph, brakes don't work.

I do think that if one added a second set of wheels behind the existing ones on this same trailer, that this would eliminate the fishtailing. I think that if you got on to the Hunter owners.com website and stated that you were looking for a trailer for your boat, you could probably find one.

First, the comment on the brakes, get them fixed for your own safety. Also check the bearings and racers while at it. Are you greasing the bearings? In addition, you may want to measure the axle to ensure the axle is true and straight on the trailer frame or the same distance on each side from the tongue of the trailer. If fishtailing, I would also see if there is too much weight on the back of the boat or might be the axle could be too far forward. Without more information this is the best I can think of to look at that traile.

If you find the keel tray holding the 23.5 centerboard pushing up against the roof of the center board housing while on the trailer, you will need to raise the bunk boards to fix that problem.
