I purchased an '88 H 23. When I take it out of the water, it rocks back on the trailer when its half way out of the water. I have adjusted the bunks and I am sure it does not pivot on the keel. Have any of you had water accumulate in the starboard compartment in the stern? A water surge may be rocking the boat.

Check your stern locker

You may have a lot of extra weight in the locker. This is a HUGE locker and the tendency is to throw everything in there. Even if the locker was empty, the battery, outboard and drinking water tank are all aft of the trailer wheels. Move some weight forward in the boat and see what happens. Good luck. Which way is the boat rocking? Side-to-side or forward-to-back? If you are talking forward and back, then Peter's answer is what to look for. The test would be to try to lift the front of the hitch off the ground while not connected to the vehicle on level ground. There should be 225 pounds or more weight at the hitch. If not then do as Peter suggests. And also see if the front winch is moved forward on the trailer tongue far enough. If your movement is side to side, I would guess your bunks are still not adjusted correctly. The information that I was given said that 30% of the boat weight rests on the bunks and 70% on the keel. Please let us know how your boat rocks and the direction and I am sure others here can offer additional advice. Ward
