Actualy, it is an Ericson but this site was recommended. I have a Suburban that is over the back bumper when we launch and trailer the boat. I don't think there is a extension on the trailer. Does anyone have any ideas on an extension. I don't mind getting in the water, but I don't want as much of my suburban getting wet as much as it is. My eamil address is jeddle7177@aol.com

A couple suggestions

Jim, You might check the archives here for extension discussions. I have seen one trailer extension that wasn't built into the trailer that worked quite well. It was on a 28 ft. hunter. The owner had made a tiple axle trailer and launched it with a one ton pickup. To do this he needed about 20 ft of extension to get the boat down the ramp far enough to float it. He took a 10 ft. section of 2" square steel tubing and mounted a ball on one end and a ball hitch socket on the other. He did this to both pieces. This made 20 ft. total extension. When he got the trailer just about in the water, he stopped, blocked the trailer wheels (real good) and unhooked the trailer. He drove forward far enough to add his extension. then hooked back up to the trailer. He unblocked the wheels and backed it into the water. Naturally, you can't guide much, but shouldn't need to once you are that close to launching. It is a two step launch process, but you would only need 6 ft or so of extension. If this doesn't explain it good enough, let me know and I will elaborate. Ward
