Hello, I am looking to buy a Catalins 22. I need a trailer. Some of the boats I am considering have a trailer, others do not. Do you have any idea on how much a new trailer would cost? Thanks, Barry

I've been pricing trailers for a little larger boat but the prices have been from $3200-$4000 for a painted trailer. Galvanized is about $400 more. Here are some links (I'm not affiliated with any of them): Triad trailors www.sailnet.com/triad 860 354 1146 Long Trailors 252 823 8104 Tarboro NC Used trailors: The Sailboat Company Garner NC 919 779 5150 http://www.loadmastertrailerco.com/ LoadMaster and Triad have online forms to request a quote.

Based on my trailer

Several years ago I purchased a new trailer for my C-22. It is an Easy Loader that has thirty-two rollers that ride on high supports providing fairly good access to the keel trunk area on the bottom. I use rollers as the trailer is just used in a boat yard, that is I store the boat on the trailer in the winter and then just go over to a ramp to launch in the spring. Nevertheless, this trailer cost about $2,800 as I remeber. I had an additional sixteen rollers added to the standard sixteen rollers whci cost about $300, so I guess the standard tailer would have cost $2,500. But that was several years ago. I imagine a good new trailer should cost about $3,000.

hello barry, don't buy a boat without a trailer. you will not be able to find one to barrow or buy. a 22 specific trailer will be in use. buy a boat with a trailer or be prepaired to leave the boat where you find it. try asking local 22 owners for the use of a trailer and get the answer. at $3000.00 for a new trailer, you can get a good shape 22 with engine and trailer( my 22 was $1100.00, trailer included). good luck john

Cheaper Trailer

My trailer for my C-22 is not in the greatest shape although I don't need it to be as I only use it to dry store at the marina. However, I am thinking of bringing my boat to the house for the winter and starting checking into new trailers. On the net the few times they actually gave me a price they were too high, the first place locally that I called quoted me a galvanized trailer with lights ready for the road at $1600.00. Plus they are only 4 miles from my house! It pays to shop.

Trailer pricing

A new painted steel channel frame trailer with tongue extension, lights, winch stand w/strap, brakes, double adjustable bunks, and tongue jack should not cost more than $1600-$1700 400-600 more for galvanize. I know because I am involved with a custom trailer maker an we have done several in the S.E. with that pricing. Choice of colors too (we will not try to match a vehicle)
