Trailer capacity and weight

Hi - Trying to decide on a trailer for Oday 22 1980. - I was recommended for a Load Rite. - I found info on the Internet says the boat displacement is 2283, but an old Oday 22 ad on the Internet for this year boat says minimum trailering weight for this boat is 2183 and hull wieght alone is only 2100 (is that without motor, sails, anchor, etc...?. Load Rite has a 2660 capacity, 560 pound trailer - has anyone who trailers the 22 had expeirence or recommendations with capacity.trailer weight that might be helpful for this boat. (Another dealer said to go with a 3000 lb capacity, 800 pound trailer but that puts me over 3000 lbs with trailering.... - Thanks - Walter

Trailer capacity

I believe trailer capacity refers to the weight of the boat it can carry. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. If that weren't the case, then the 2660 trailer and the 3000 trailer would both have about the same capacity.
