Does anyone have the dimensions for the trailer bunks for a Hunter 22 with the centerboard? I am buying a used trailer and I am trying to figure out how to mount proper bunks for my boat without paying a yard to haul it out and fit it to the trailer. Thanks, Dan

Trailer Bunk dimensions for an 18.5

I recently replaced the bunks on the trailer for my 18.5. The old bunks installed were 6'. I increased 6" fore and 18" aft, for a total length of 8'. I used pressurized 2x6s, covered with heavy outdoor carpet. I attached the bunks with carriage bolts placed at the centerline of each bunk. Make sure you attach at the centerline. Also, in order to protect the finish of your hull, sink the bolts under the carpet, not above. The boat sits on the trailer much better now, and I plan on performing this replacement at least once every 2 years. Whatever the stock size of the bunks for your boat trailer, seriously consider increasing the length. If you need more information, please e-mail me at Chris.Haraway@home.com

I was unclear before

Thank you for your response but I was unclear before. I need to know How much higher the fore and aft bunk supports are than the middle supports as well as the width between each pair of the fore, aft, and middle supports. I plan to use 2x6's for the bunks. I need this info specifically for a Hunter 22 so I can make the trailer fit close enough to pull the boat out of the water the first time. I can make adjustments after that. Thanks, Dan

Center board

I have the model with the centerboard/swing keel. I wish I had the fixed keel version at least until I end up in 2.5 ft of water. Dan

In a day or two

If you give me a day or two i'll go and uncover mine and give you the dimensions. Or put your email up and I will send them to you. Dave
