I have a 1986 Catalina 22 swing keel. It has a Trail-Rite trailer I believe. It has a tongue extension. There is no sticker or registration from the previous owner. Can anyone tell me the weight of this trailer?

Hell, I will swag a guess: 18,000 lbs. But I could be wrong by plus or minus 7000 lbs based on the trailer's extras, like a tongue wheel, aluminum or galvanized metal used, the number and size of the bunks, single or double axle, etc.

But otherwise, you can take it to the bank.

If I sought an accurate number, I would take it over a truck scale and get an accurate reading.

@jvanhare Boat and trailer weight will be somewhere between 3 to 4000lbs on average. Their lighter if stripped for racing and on the heavier end if loaded for a week of cruising. I would suggest a search on the Catalina 22 forum where this topic has been discussed in great detail. Trailrite was the most common trailer type. Sorry but the previous guess is way out of the ballpark for a Catalina 22 however they are right in that you should run it over a scale if you want an accurate weight.

Trailer alone is likely 800-1000lbs would be my guess but I have not weighed my empty trailer.
