I am interested in fee back regarding trading my 1983 Catalina 22 for a 1983 Catalina 25. My 22 is in great shape. There are no leaks, the teak is finished and look great, the boats gel coat look great, I wax every spring and fall, I have a new bimini, the interior is like brand new. The 25 footer I am looking at is the same year. It hasn't been cleaned in a while. The teak needs to be removed and completely refinished. I haven't seen the interior but was told that it's in good shape. It will take a lot of elbow grease to claen up. I wanted to know what you think a fair dollar amount would be. My boat and $X amount. Thanks, Jack

2- 3 grand

your boat would sell for 2 - 3 k and the 25 would go for 4 - 5. That is unless there are any major issues like deck rot or washed out sails. BUT if your dealing with a dealer you'll get less. He has to add in his time to sell your boat and his profit. A 24 year old Catalina is not in big demand. They build tons of them!

Boat Value

Boat values are mostly dependent on the local market and other things like trailers, outboards, accessories...etc, but you can get an idea of your boat's worth using the NADA Guide for Boats. http://www.nadaguides.com//Values/ValueManufacturer.asp?LI=1-24-0-5601-664-663-50621&lnk=1&wSec=4&wPr=0&wPg=1027 You can also get an idea by checking the listngs on www.Yachtworld.com.
