Track down an old boat?

Trying to track down an old boat my Dad was the captain on back in the 70's, she was a 1975 Westsail 42' originally a cutter, but he converted her to a ketch shortly after taking delivery. She also has a unique / custom retractable sonar unit forward of the keel, which was extended forward by a couple feet to accommodate.

This is the only piece of information I have been able to track down so far:

Anyone have any suggestions on where/how I could find out what happened to her after April 30, 1990?

If you are willing to dig a little here is a link where you can look at current info on a manufacturer. There are 40 pages but most appeared to be 32s.


You can get a name and look up in the USCG database.

Since you have the doc number, you might try putting the word out to the owners associations. Here are a few.

I already emailed the guy in charge of westsail.org, hadn't found the other owner groups though. Thanks for that, I'll reach out to them and see what I can find.

I had already dug though boatinfoworld, it doesn't appear to have anything that I wasn't able to also find on uscg site, in fact it appears to just be a duplicate of the USCG data.

All the other owners groups listed appear to be long dead with no activity in years, or having never gotten off the ground with only a couple users ever signed up.
