You left out some key info. How far will you be towing and at what speeds? Does your trailer have surge brakes? It doesn't take much horsepower to move the boat/trailer but stopping it and having enough weight to counter the effect of 3200#'s of trailer is another matter.I have a 26S which is lighter than your X, the previous owner pulled it with a newer smaller GM SUV. He had to add weight to the tongue of the trailer to help counter the bouncing and lift on the hitch. For him braking was a challenge. He never went over 50 mph on the highway and for only very short distances. I pull the same boat with a Dodge Ram pickup and could pull it easily across the country at highway speeds.Don't try to save gas and lose your life. On your boat you should have disc surge brakes and a tow vehicle at least 2000# heavier than your boat.
