Seeking towing weight information. I have a 1988 H23 with original trailer. What is the estimated weight of the boat and trailer? Any info appreciated. Thanks much.

Boat Weight

Most people underestimate the weight of their boat. If you use Hunter's dry weight you'll be way off. Why not haul it to the scale and get a certified weigh ticket? Get the tongue weight, weight of the vehicle, weight of the trailer and weight of the boat. It might take a couple of trips but there won't be any guessing. I have a 85 H23 with the original trailer. The trailer is just under 1500# and the spec says the boat is 2450#. So you are looking at around 4000# without gear.

Thanks to both rapid responders! The H26+trailer is about 5700lbs, and the H23+trailer is about 4000lbs. These estimates really help at this time. Appreciate it. Karl

Yes, the manufacturers, published Dry Weight

does not take into account the weight of the outboard engine, gas tank, water in the tank and other equipment and stuff you may have added. A wild guess would be 700-800 lbs above dry eight. That would put the boat at around 3,200 and a two axle galvanized trailer should be around 1,300 so I would consider abou 4,500 lbs for the whole rig. Stop at a truck station and weigh it (a small fee) and you'll have your answer.
