Well, we are getting closer on the delivery of our new 460. Since my wife and I are assignment in South America for the next few weeks, we could not go and tour the Hunter plant ourselves. My parents were quite excited about the new boat, and they live in North Florida, only about 1.5 hours from Alachua, so they took advantage of the distance and went and toured the plant. My Mom reports that the people at the plant were absolutely delightful, my folks and the other couple that they took with them were given the royal treatment. When the guide found out that we had a boat being manufactured, he found out which one it was, put a ladder up on the side and invited them to climb have a look at the interior. We now know that we will have hull number 150. My Mom took some delight in telling me that she sat in the captians seat of my new boat before I did!She also said that the process for manufacturing was quite interesting. She took lots of photos, so look for a Photo Forum on the plant as well as the birth of our new 460 "BlackSheep" coming up, as soon as I can get home and scan the photos.. While my folks were there, the crew were rolled our boat out towards the pond for it's first float test. As they were leaving, they saw finished 460 on the truck on it's way to a happy new owner.Based on my coversation with my parents, I would suggest that any of you who happen to be in North Florida make an effort to get by the plant. Seems well worth the time.
