Hey y'all,
I just got word from Seabrook Shipyard, Seabrook, TX where my vega rode
out Hurricane Ike. 85% of the boats were a total loss but they found
my little Vega sitting pretty just like I left here. I had removed all
of the running rigging and sails prior to deploying to Afghanistan. I
did a good job of securing the boat and chose a good slip on a floating
peer, but you simply can't ignore the fact that this is one tough
little boat. After all, it did weather Hurricane Ike hit it at point
blank range, top dead center. Very reassuring.
