Topside Paint

Looking for pros & cons of using Interlux Perfection (2-part poly) vs Interlux Brightside (1-part poly).

Any other opinions/advice on redoing the topside of my 25' Macgregor would be great. Thanks.

I just used Interlux Perfection on my boat. Be careful with the whites, they have a very quiet recall going on with some of the shades of white. I used Oyster White and it was not a part of the recall.

If I had to do it over, I would have used a different type of two part marine paint. The Perfection is awesome to look at and easy to apply. The only drawback is it cannot be machine buffed. Only hand buffed with a few compatible waxes. The two part epoxy is tough as nails when cured. I had a ladder fall against the paint job after it had cured for three weeks and leave a rub scratch that I just rubbed off with my thumb.

Yes I used it for the side accent stripe, the boot stripe and from above the rub rail to the top of the side that meets the deck. The letters are vinyl. I wanted an off white that would match up to the gel coat on the deck as best as possible. It is not a direct match but it is close enough to it.
