I have to replace the gasket material for my topside hatches. I was wonder if anyone who has done this before has any helpful finds. I tried one before and used super glue to hold down the new gasket material. That did not work! Thanks for any help, Jim A

if they're Lewmar hatches...

If they are lewmar hatches you can order a "seal kit" (one gasket w/adhesive) from any lewmar distributor. Look up the distributors on the lewmar website. If you can't identify the hatch then you can do what terry suggests. However, if you can find the appropriate gasket in a single, unbroken strip, that's more likely to seal properly. PAUL HAS A GOOD SUGGESTION...

Jim, you can also use a good quality pliable marine cement to glue the butt joint of the new seal together. Be sure to clean out the old seal residue and adhesive material gunk from the seal trough before seating the new seal. Terry

Use 3m Weather strip glue works great and seals good,, you can get it at most auto parts stores.
