hi, i have a hunter 310. furling headsail and furling main.i have a seldon rodkicker and a travel arch. the back of my boom has a place for a topping lift but there is nothing to the boom. ex. a line. is this a normal setup because of the rodkicker? would a line to mast be overkill? thanks alan

No need for a topping lift

The rodkicker eliminates the need for the topping lift, which is great because the topping lift can be annoying, especially if you have a large roach main sail.

No topping lift

Even without a rodkicker, the B&R rig doesn't need a topping lift. My 310 just has a rope kicker. The roach of the mainsail supports the end of the boom when under way. On my rig, the lazy jacks support the boom when the mainsail is down.
