Topping Lift Connection at top of Mast

Can someone tell me how the topping lift is connected to the top of the mast? Was the standard installation wire or rope?

On my 28.5 (which I no longer own) the lift was rope, rigged just like a halyard.

Same as H31?

If it is (same boat, just shorter), the connection at the top of the mast is pin through a swagged, vinyl covered wire over thimble. The 31 also has 2:1 purchase system/block on aft end of boom, then line runs to forward end of boom for cleating in clutch on boom.
