Top of mast halyard

I have a Hunter 23 and I'm buying an asymetrical spiThe sailmaker told me that I have to ad a top of mast halyard but he doesnt know if the mast can take it.Anyone knows if the mast will allow this?ThanksArmando

Hello Armando, My H23 had a fitting at the top of the forestay that would allow for a spinnaker halyard. It was an '87 model, and had the Z-spar mast and boom.--Jon BastienH25 'Adagio'

I just bought an assym spanker for my '87 H23 and it does have a spinnaker halyard block just about the forestay for an internal halyard, as mentioned previously by Jon. However, I saw an illustration that shows you can attach a block to the masthead if necessary.

Mine is an 85 model, I haven't noticed the fitting above the forestay but I'll check it.The reason to go all the way to the top is, the spin has a 29 foot luff.ThanksArmando
