Does anyone else have too much feline help around the boat? A lost cat adopted us and has been my shadow around the boat. I have teak oil cat prints in the cockpit, little muddy cat prints all over, and had help tonight trying to lay out a nice bead of 3M 4200. Last week I had the feeling someone was watching me wire in a solar charger. I looked up and all I saw were two paws, two eys, and two ears looking down from the cabin top! I'm about to have him fitted for a PFD!!!!

If you take it home it can't mess up your boat

Justin:

Justin, He's our outdoor kitty here at home. At night he sleeps on a very expensive cat bed with four wheels in the garage. During the day is my four legged shadow around the farm. He is very spoiled for a farm cat. Jay

Hero

Justin, You'd be a hero if you'll permanently adopt the little guy. We love our boat cat although she's old now and stays home most of the time. Just be sure to spay or neuter. thanks a lot dw

Who wants a boring Cat

Jay, Sounds like a fun Cat. If it never did anything to endear itself to you, you wouldn't give it a second look. We have a small farmy kind of place and used to get 8 or 10 cats a year dumped on us. We'd take them to the vet, get them fixed and all the proper shots just to get them homes. At a hundred bucks a cat that gets old fast. Every animal we've ever had has been adopted. We have 4 adopted cats and one adopted dog. Life would be pretty boring without them... Enjoy, Chris

Name him Capt. Nemo and get him a PFD :)

And oh...if you decide to take him sailing, get him fixed, make him an indoor cat, and teach him to use a litter box. (Get him fixed anyway).

Tell you about my dirty white girl,

I too aquired a cat, I live on board, and one evening, with my meal, climbing in to v berth to eat and watch the news, I got a feeling something was watching me, and by my rt. shoulder was a rat, 8" body length, + tail, I hollered at it and it took off towards the tv, now ith a cat on board, this shouldn't be, so I grabed my dirty white girl, scolded her for her live present and put her in the v bert, the game persued, into the main cabin, now how do I catch this thing without getting bit, I grabed my B&D 12v vac, having a hose 1&1/2" dia, turned it on an caught the rat at it's nose and mouth, up to it's eyeball, walked to the companionway over the side and shut the switch off, I did this 36 time since, one was almost as big as her, had to bash it's head in with a open turnbuckle, now one time she brought me an 18" snake, fortunately it was dead, but I saw anothe snake 4 feet long alive and well, if she brings that on board, I'M leaving.

Thanks for all the feed back!

Thanks for all the feedback. I never thought anyone else had as much help as myself. "Daisey" was fixed when he found us, has had all his shots, and has come in the house to visit our inside cats (Ocicats). He spends his days hunting presents for me and spends his nights crashed out on the Corvett in the garage safe from the coyotes. And when I come home, it's time to help!!! Jay
