Hi Hunter fans, I need to remove the toilet from my Hunter 29.5. The problem is I can't figure out how to access the nuts on the mounting bolts that hold the toilet to the floor. They are apparently under the floor and I can't figure this out! Please reply. Thanks, Frank weeks

Are you sure there are nuts?

If you back out a screw, does it have machine threads? I seem to recall that the screws used to hold the toilet are the "wood screw" variety and screw directly into the material underneath the toilet.

There aren't any nuts...

All toilet mounting bolts are lag bolts...just back 'em out. Before setting down the new toilet, make sure the bolts for it are a tight fit in the existing holes...if they aren't, the toilet will wobble. IF they aren't, fill the holes and drill new ones that are. For Pete's sake, DON'T use 5200 or anything else! The next person who has to replace a toilet will want to put a contract out on you if you do! Nothing is needed to make sure the toilet is secure. In fact, you want to be careful not to over-tighten the mounting bolts...doing so can crack the base.

Ken and Peggie are right

You should just have to unscrew them, I was amazed at how easy the job was.
