Good morning and happy fourth of july to all hunter owners everywhere! I have a hunter 426 with a genset. I am looking for an electric toaster and coffee maker to use on my boat. Ideally, these units will not draw too much "juice". any suggestions?

Power shouldn't be a problem w Genset

I have a 5KW Northern Lights on my 356 and use a Farberware small (4 cup) electric percolator. I don't know what the draw is, but you should not have any problem running it, computer, charging phones, TV, HVAC and other electical items like elecric clocks. I use my genset on every sail to run the HVAC. I have a great sound shield so it is very quiet. We have never had a problem with power. We have a standard off the shelf toaster and it also has never caused a problem. We only have one 30 Amp circuit at the dock and parallel the two on-board circuits. We sometimes have a problem with the coffee maker and hot water heater which trips our boat breaker. That does not happen with the genset.

thanks

thanks jerry. i have a hunter 426 with a panda mini 8 genset. the coffee make has been ok. a standard toaster, i think, caused a problem with the genset panel and it did blow out. howver, i did have the a/c blasting... do you know of any companies that make toasters and coffee makers for marine, low amp use? good sailing!

Don't know of any

Don't know of any low amp toasters or coffee makers. You should have your genset checked out as 8 amps should run everything you have with ease. Maybe the genset is not producing at full power?

Truck Stops

Truck stops have a lot of 12v products. However, they are quite slow. I have a 12v coffee maker which works well but like I said it is quite slow at brewing a pot.

Power

I have a 426 2004 with a 8kw Panda and have had no problems using standard electric toasters and coffee makers plus a George Foreman grill

Of course fred

an 8K generator is going to create more electricity then your going to get from 99% of marina's shore power.
