To Shrink Wrap or Not to Shrink Wrap

I am hauling my O'Day 23 for the first time, and I do not have a tarp/frame to cover the boat for the winter. My marina will build a crude frame and shrink wrap my boat (for a price of course). Does anyone have any comments/suggestions about this practice? Thanks.

Shrink Wrap

After fighting with tarps for years I switched to shrink wrap last year and like it. The only negative thing I see is the price which is $10/ft in my area. The material used to cover a boat like yours costs about $30. I purchased my own propane heat gun and do it myself to reduce my expense. Be sure that it is well ventilated. Barry

Leave it open

I leave my C27 uncovered for the winter. I add a little antifreeze to the bilge, but that's about it. I work on it throughout the winter, so having it shrink wrapped would be tough.

Winter cover

I have an O'Day 23, also. I made a cradle for the mast that keeps it above the hatches and tent a long tarp across entire length. This provides protection, provides plenty of ventilation and still allows access aft.
