It can get in the way
My H23 came with a stern rail. It is in the way of the cockpit locker lid so the lid falls down very easily, like when I've got my head half way in the locker looking for a fender. A catch of some sort will take care of the "risk" but it is annoying. The stern rail also makes starting and lifting/lowering the moter very awkward. Bashed elbows and lost hats are common casualties until you figure out how to contort yourself to pull the starting cord and hoist on the bracket. An electric start and electric bracket would solve the problem nicely, but raises the cost of the stern rail considerably. Geoff
