Greetings,

We Clean the fiberglass, then wax it. It looks really clean but not for long. Soon little black dots start forming all over the fiberglass. Does someone has a tip to keep it clean longer.
Thank you very much in advance for your answer. Have a wonderful day,
Christine

Soap & water? :)
Seriously, I think you just have to accept that you'll need to clean the boat a couple times a year. Is your wax job holding up for the season? The wax is a protector but isn't going to keep the boat clean by itself. If it's holding up than you shouldn't have a hard time cleaning off these spots.

Sounds like mold to me!

I use a HD fiberglass bath tub and shower mold cleaner and mold inhibitor. Works great for almost all season long. Wash the boat down good, apply a diluted solution and wash away. Some spots remain, go for a walk, have a cold drink or coffee and come back and its squeeky white. Works great. Apply your wax at will. Lots of luck!

what type of wax are you using?
there are a lot of easy to apply products around that wont come close to doing the job that a good paste style carnauba wax will do.

the black spots/dots are growing because either the surface is not remaining clean, or its not getting fully clean....
so either your current wax is letting you down, or you are "waxing" over something that is still embedded in the pores of the gelcoat or paint.....

We are using liquid marine wax bought in west Marine.

liquid car/boat wax is not much more than furniture polish.... a good carnauba paste wax can remain in the pores of the clean paint or gelcoat for a few months or more, whereas the liquid wax is mostly a silicone based product and does little to protect the surface for more than a couple days. but it looks pretty.... silicone can also grow mildew on its surface....
clean the hull well and put the effort into a real wax job and you will be very happy with the lasting results:D

One thing I have found works great for removing stubborn spots is Ceramic Stove Top Cleaner from, I think, Weimer

Try the Magic Erasers too...the white sponges...scuff marks, etc are gone immediately!
