I was working on my boat yesterday and was about to fill some holes I drilled in my rudder to drain water an water build up. I was not looking forward to doing this since I always had a mess working with 5200. One of the other guys at the marina told be about a trick he learned about with working with 5200. Mix 50-50 dish detergent and water. Once you applied the 5200, dip your finger in the detergent water combo and use your finger, not a putty knife, to smooth out the 5200. No mess and a very smooth finish. Great idea. Hope someone else can use it. Phil, why don't we have a section for tips and tricks?

Good idea about a "tips" forum

Thanks for the tip on working with 5200 -- and other permanent stuff. I like the idea about a spot for "tips & tricks" and just this weekend at West Marine saw an interesting book entitled something like "Why Didn't I Think Of That" which is full of useful tricks.
