Has anyone out there installed a diesel Tiny Tach for their sailboat? I have a 1981 H30 and would like an uncomplicated solution to monitoring engine performance. What was your experience with Tiny Tach? (I also have a tiny budget.)
my sone gave me one to install at the engine compartment to monitor when working on the engine. It is fairly accurate compared with the tack on my engine panel and easy to install. Definitely a cheap and good alternative. don
I bought a 79' cherubini 30 with one installed. It seems to work ok. It can flucuate a little when it first starts running. It is mounted in a place hard to see. I will probably put a wedge behind it to get the angle easier to see. But it does help. I use it more to help me tell what rev the engine is going by sound. I don't look at it much anymore.
