Hello Anne and Laurence:
My name is Brian Hofler and I own a Tinker Traveller. I'm not the only one.
Several of my cruising friends also own Tinkers. We have been meeting for
several years - annually at the Pacific North West VEGAtarian Rendezvous (my
wife and I used to own a VEGA). Over the years some individuals have pursued
other interests and our numbers (of VEGA owners and sailors) have been
decreasing.
In order to reverse that trend, and to reinvigorate our numbers, a brainwave
emerged at a recent discussion with one of the original VEGAtarian members.
The discussion included this years rendezvous site and the fun of meeting
and sailing our Tinkers once again. And we thought - what about a Tinker
Rendezvous and Regatta - a Tinkervous! That way we could invite the world
and use the Tinker as the reason to get together. The mother ship can be any
boat or other transport device that tows or stows a Tinker. And...wouldn't
it be fitting to have an individual(s) who bring "tink" wherever they go as
the guests of honour? And particularly, special guests whose sailing guides
adorn the shelves of many of the participants who gather annually in search
of good company and good fun.
And so...consider this a formal invitation to participate as the guests of
honour (it means that you decide who wins the race(s)) at the first
