31 Seahorse,

I think I kinda like you man & I Thank you for your post.

I had to sell my mom's Condo recently when she passed,
The new owners had questions & I put them onto good project people to talk to.
Be it a boat, condo or a house, if you can help someone, you have done a great job.

That's what this site is ALL about & much appreciated.
So, you're not going anywhere but, you are still NEEDED here on SBO..........
For owners needing advice.

The way I see it, You do not have a choice, you are connected...........
Please Stay onboard Dave........ or, my cousin Guido may have to pay you a visit...HA!

Hey if for nothing else, how about just for shitzz & giggles?

CR

Once again, the Hotel California rule applies. I bet even the younger crowd here understands.

When I sold my old Hunter 280, I helped the new owner change out the strut bearing, sailed it to his new home port (with him) and he called or texted me frequently the first season, for help or advice. Less the 2nd season, and not at all,the 3rd season. I expect he figured out the boat out (as I did) and is enjoying her on his own now.

Or he got fed up and sold her (jeez, I hope not).

I did give him every manual, or other information I had put together for my H280.

My thoughts was a little more selfish. Helping the new owner initially and then lesser as time goes by may perhaps help wane one off the loved boat in a more gradual way. This is to head off the sudden shock of losing a "mistress".

Dave, I use to live in Stoneybrook Estates off Warick Blvd. where three of the original astronauts use to live. Gus Grissom, Wally Schirra and there was one other. Schirra use to live across the street and Gus, well he was dad's best friend who took me under his wings when my father was killed in a private helo. The original seven (first assigned to NASA Langley) flew by the seat of their pants long before the day of computers. As Grissom said once to me, it was like sticking a stick of dynamite up your patutie. There is a lot of history there with me but that I will share privately only with friends. However, it was Schirra whom I first heard anything about pollution in the atmosphere as he said, If we are not careful, we will screw up Mother Earth. Never forgot that and oh how true.
