Hunter 33 New Orleans
My name is Jim and my wife is Donna. We finally closed on our 2006 Hunter 33.1. I would like to say it is new to us but it is new. The boat was listed as having a 147 hours on the generator and 409 on the engine. Well boat brokers being what they are he couldn’t read the decimal point so it was really 14.7 and 40.9 hours. The boat is new inside and out. The refrigerator was failed but was replaced by the owner with a 12/120 unit instead of the 12 volt only before closing. The boat was literally never sailed by the 2 previous owners. The broker had sailed it a few times. The price was great and the deal went off without a hitch.

I have owned several boats in the past and currently still own and use a Nimble Nomad with is for sale. I have rebuilt an O’Day 25 and a Hooks Marine Custom 34 twice. Katrina( 8 Year Anniversary Today BTW) beat her up bad and Isaac finished her off. I had heard many opinions about Hunters, I must say that this 2006 is constructed very well and the fit is exceptional. No I would not go on a world cruise in the boat but there are not many boats I would attempt that in anyway.

In the short time I have been on this site I have found a lot of great information and all the users are very helpful. I have found the parts store very useful for buying several small trim items which I replaced all in all I am a very happy camper. Hope to see everyone on the water.

Welcome, Jim ! Sounds like you found a fine one! I think you're going to be happy with her.
I am in Slidell right now, but will be moving Cloud back to Mandeville probably next week.. Another month to go before the good sailing really starts ! Yea!

Congratulations and welcome. I have a 2006 Hunter 33 but other that your earlier posts about the 33.1 I had not heard of this designation. Do you know what the difference is between the 33 and the 33.1?

Jake, nothing that I can decipher, I think it may denote the newer design from the older 33 and the e33. I know when I bought parts the boats were listed by year. I saw the 33 and 33.1 interchanged a lot when researching the boat a bit confusing. I was also confused when I saw some European boats with teak on the cockpit seats.

Claude, waiting for the heat to break. The Catalina was in Mandeville, thought I was going to end up there for a while. I will keep an eye out for you. I don't have a name yet the current one on the boat is Lagniappe, I have to wait for the Admiral to make up her mind.

As I was reading, I expected your decimal point to move in the other direction. What an awesome thing to discover. I have a C30 in Mandeville and will keep an eye out for you on the lake.

I think the 33.1 designation is coming from brokers trying to make their listing stand out and / or make it go to the top of the search order on Yachtworld.

The spec's for both the 2004 -2011 H33 and the new e33 are identical for the hull.
LOA 33'-6"
Hull Length 33'-1"
Waterline 29'-5"
Beam 11'-6"

The 33.1 appears to be the Hull length.

The model designation from 2004 - 2011 is still the Hunter 33.
