Weight and balance

I have and 8D AGM battery on the starboard side against the forward bulkhead. Most of your storage area is located on the starboard side also. The only time I fill the tank full is when I'm cruising. Then I also have food and equipment stored so the weight is quite equally distributed. With the tank completely full and the boat loaded for cruising the weight kills the speed of the boat. So for a weekend cruise I'll fill it about half full. That's enough for two people to take one shower each and use the head as much as needed, wash a few dishes etc. This still lets you cruise at about 16 to 18 kts. I always carry bottled water for drinking. The water tank starts to taste a little funny if it sets very long. There is a link to a picture of the boat fully loaded at the bottom of the page. You can see that it is still well above the waterline mark. I had all of my cruising gear a full ballast tank and full water tank. I do have one from the front in the same configuration however I have not scanned it in yet. I'll try and get it posted in a day or two. vetus tank

can,t get to the link no yahoo id. I researced a trangle fexible tank 26 imp gals. made by a canadian company called vetus, located in quebec. I am going to give it a try in the bow. For hot water in the galley I think I'll try an insinkerater instant hot/cold water tap, inconjuction with my 700w inverter. it will make about 4 cups of 190 degree water at a time. I had a look at the products you are considering for your hot water system it looks very interesting. I am a little critical of any hot water system just because of energy required. Good luck with that.

Photo and comments

Saw the Vetus tanks when I did mine. Look like good tanks. Let me know how it works out. I have the plastimo 39.7 gallon. With 3 people taking showers every day and normal hand and dish washing and flushing the toilet it lastes 3 days. It works out to about 4.4 gallons per day per person. I have a 9 gallon holding tank and with three people it fills in about 3 days also. The whole system seems to work verry well. Sorry about the link I'm attaching a photo to this post.
