Let me pick your brains Hunter owners! I have a customer with a Hunter 26 / water ballast / tiller steering / rudder hung off the transom / 4 or 5 years old. He wants to convert to wheel steering. Anybody done it? If so please share any thoughts & experiences. I'm not a Hunter owner (...C&C) so go easy on the Hunter specific jargon! Thanks for any comments, sam :)

Edson makes a complete "kit" small boat tiller to wheel.. very pricey! I think it was over $2,500 if I remember right. I'm staying with the tiller!

Don't think Edson makes it anymore...

at least that was the consensus last year or so. Check the archives, this has been discussed numerous, numerous times. Also Dave Condon, aka Crazy Dave, is a dealer who specialized(?) in the H26/260 boats. You will see his posts a lot, and you can reach him via the dealers page here at HOW - American Marine and Sail (link below.)

Something to consider

On the 26, the wheel takes up a lot of the cockpit that he may have gotten use to. The roomy cockpit is one of the luxuries of the 26.
