If anyone has solved the problem of mounting a tiller pilot (Simrad TP-10 or Raymarine ST-1000) without it looking like a construction project, please let me know how.

My old 23.5 had tiller Pilot

My old boat (a 92 23.5) had a tiller pilot installed on it. I did not install it, it came with the boat but how it was done was. 1. a bracket was attached to the bottom of the tiller to bring the 'pin even with the top of the seats. 2. on the port seat the mount for the tiller pilot was attached. 3. on the side of the seat (where you calfs are) the connections for the Autopilot was mounted. To use you would put the pin of the autopilot into the mount of the seat, screw in the autopilot connect, and then place the end of the autopilot arm on the pin, on the bracket which is attached to the tiller.

I installed a Raytheon ST-2000 tiller pilot on my Hunter 26. Getting the brackets took the most time, as the tiller bracket was backordered through July. I documented everything in the photo forum on this site. Pretty easy, maybe a one hour job. Especially if you just wire it to the battery with an inline fuse. I added a power panel and NMEA leads to my GPS. Mike Pajewski H26 "Loon"
