Hi chaps,

anybody out there got a tiller lock that works? I'm looking for
something thats easy to release, solid once applied and readliy
adjustable once applied. Any ideas, pictures or recommendations of
commercially available kit would be great.

Tks in advance.

Hi George:

I have a "tiller lok" and love it for a variety of reasons. You can obtain a very reasonable set-up from Hamilton Marine hamiltonmarine.com for the reasonbal price of $22.29 US. It's called "Tiller Tamer" and appears at p. 79 (item DAV 2205) of the catalog. Best wishes

I had a Tiller Tamer on my previous boat, worked just fine but didn't
enjoy having the loose lines wrapped around the tiller when I wasn't
using it. An old timer showed me how to use a single long bungee cord
from side to side with one or two wraps around the end of the tiller--it
accomplishes the same thing for a tenth of the cost plus is instantly
and fully removable and very adjustable when you get the hang of
tensioning it. That's what I use on my Vega now, for me preferable to
the higher-tech gadget!
