Does anyone know what the aluminum fitting is called that attaches the tiller to the rudder? I have an O'Day 27.

Rudder Head with Pintles

The rudder part that you're inquiring about is called the Rudder Head, which is made up of two Aluminum plates with wood spacing blocks, pintles, ferrels, nuts, bolts and washers. I'm giving you a site that you can check out for anything you may need for it.

Rudder to tiller fitting

The O27 has an aluminum casting that is pinned to the top of the rudder post & which the wood tiller bolts into. It has two functions, attaching the tiller to the rudder post and preventing the rudder & post from dropping out of the boat. Don't try to remove it from the post untill you've got a strap or something under the rudder to hold it up.
