Our Sea Scout unit purchased a 2004 Hunter 216.
When we bought the boat the tiller extension was missing in action.
I thought it would not be a big deal to replace but I do not know what size replacement extension I should order.:confused: There seem to be so many choices. Please send me your recommendations.

A telescoping extension is best

A telescoping extension is whatever length you want, but is expensive. My solution was to buy a Ronstan universal joint to attach to the tiller and I bought a 3 piece telescoping hiking stick from Walmart to be riveted to the joint. Then I had to put a stainless screw through the rubber handle of the hiking stick into the aluminum tube to hold it on. Since it's made for downward pressure when hiking it pulled off the stick!

Here's the joint, maybe you can find it cheaper: http://shop.sailnet.com/34ronstan-s...p-4638.html?osCsid=d2h9585ndf8sj1q3so5rvr4k67

Chuck Wayne;

If you are out there, can you take a photo of your 216 tiller and extension and post that photo
